Takaharu Okada

Takaharu Okada is a laboratory head at RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences (IMS-RCAI) in Yokohama, Japan. He started his studies in immunology after completing his Ph.D. work in molecular physiology at National Institute for Physiological Sciences in Japan. During his postdoctoral training at University of California, San Francisco, he started to use live imaging techniques to investigate dynamics of B cell immune responses. In 2007, he became a faculty member of Kyoto University. In 2008, he moved to RIKEN as an independent investigator, and his lab is studying mechanisms that regulate cellular dynamics during adaptive immune responses.
