Erika L Pearce
Dr. Erika L. Pearce obtained her Ph.D. in 2005 from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia on the regulation of T cell responses during infection. She remained at the at the University of Pennsylvania for her postdoctoral fellowship and it was during this time that she began to investigate how cellular metabolic processes influence the development of memory CD8+ T cells after infection. In 2009 she joined the Trudeau Institute in Saranac Lake, New York as an assistant member. In 2011, she moved her research group to Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis where she is now an associate professor in the Department of Pathology and Immunology. Currently her work focuses on the role of cellular metabolism in regulating CD4+ and CD8+ T cell function and fate during infection and cancer.
