Severine Navarro
Dr Severine Navarro has been appointed as a senior research officer in the Centre for Biodiscovery and Molecular Development of Therapeutics at James Cook University, Cairns, in the laboratory of Professor Alex Loukas. The focus of her research project is the development of hookworm protein-based therapeutics for the treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases such as allergic asthma, inflammatory bowel diseases and Celiac disease. She has obtained her PhD with high honors in 2011 at the Universite de Nice-Sophia-Antipolis, France where she used different approaches to induce and recruit regulatory T cells to the airways and suppress allergic inflammation.
